  3. The MAIN MENU allows the selection of each major function of
  4. RELIABILITY PREDICTOR as follows:

  8. 1.  Select Environment/Component Quality.

  10.    RELIABILITY PREDICTOR's database contains failure rate data for
  11.    component types in each of 3 operating environments :
  12.  
  13.         - Ground Benign,
  14.  
  15.         - Ground Fixed,
  16.  
  17.         - Ground Mobile.

  22. RELIABILITY PREDICTOR calculates overall failure rates depending upon
  23. the quality level of components used. The default component quality is
  24. selected from one of three types :

  27.         - Commercial Quality
  28.  
  29.         - Industrial Quality
  30.  
  31.         - Military Quality
  32.  
  33.  
  34. The default setting can be over-ridden for an individual component type.

  36.    2. Enter Components

  38. This selection allows you to choose a class of components e.g. diodes,
  39. enter the number of each type of component in this class and also change
  40. the quality level of each type of component. The file DATABASE.DEF lists
  41. the classes of components and the names of the files containing the
  42. reliability information for each one.

  45.    3. Output Results

  47. When all the components are entered the results can be calculated. This
  48. selection carries out the necessary calculations and allows them to be
  49. output either to the screen or a printer.

  55. RELIABILITY PREDICTOR.
